【Emergency Meeting with HKU: Isolation Arrangements of Students Returning from Mainland】
Sam Yip Kam Lung, Camille Yam Ka Yi together with other Central Western District Councilors will be meeting with HKU representatives at 4:30 p.m. in discussion of the isolation arrangements of students returning from mainland China. Previously, we have requested public consultation before executing the isolation, but sadly, we have not been positively replied. With respective to the severity of the situation, we will continue to take up the role as citizen representatives and acquire the most updated information from HKU’s representatives.
Sam will be reporting Central Western Districts’ residents’ concerns to the current isolation arrangements and will be taking follow-up actions depending on HKU’s reply to the situation.
In addition, the Central Western District Council will be holding a special meeting on Thursday this week in discussion of protocols for the Coronavirus. The isolation arrangements for these HKU students are too listed on the agenda of the meeting. We have to specify that the meeting being held today does not imply the absence of HKU representatives in the meeting on the upcoming Thursday, and HKU has replied that they will allocate personnel to the best of their ability for this occasion.
